| Anonymous Call Rejection | If a caller withholds their number so that you can’t tell what number they called from, they won’t be able to get through to you. They’ll only get through if they reveal their number. Anonymous Call Rejection (ACR) will reject all calls using the withholding feature, this will include many callers who for a number of reasons do not want to, or cannot divulge the number they are calling from. For example, many Public Services such as Hospitals, DSS, Fire Brigades, Doctors, Police Forces and Public Utilities usually withhold their telephone number. The emergency services are fully aware of the limitations of ACR and calls can be put through by Operator services - the forwarded telephone number to the Customer will be ‘Operator’. Instructions:
On enabling this service, or on checking the status of this service and finding it enabled, the following announcement will be heard: ‘Callers who withhold their number will not be able to phone you’. On disabling this service or on checking the status of this service and finding that the service is disabled, the following announcement will be heard: ‘Callers who withhold their number will be able to phone you’. A caller withholding their number and encountering a block from the service will hear the following announcement ‘The person you are calling is not accepting anonymous calls. Please redial without withholding your number’. |
